Girly card in blue

Can you believe it - this is the last day of June and that means that tomorrow I've my first vacation day! YEAH! Also - as you might already know - we are excited - since our friends from Chicago arrives tomorrow. I'm hoping that Sweden will show them how a wonderful Swedish Summer can be. So keep you fingers crossed for some sunshine and warm weather.

Today I have a card showing Eden with Teddy. I just love this image. It's adorable. I had to challenge myself and not colour her in pink - but in blue instead. And I think she looks as good as in blue as she would do in pink - right? Just added a pink little rose and a heart charm.

Added some dew drops and again - went for a clean layout since I wanted her to be in the center!

Hope you like it and we would love to see what you all are creating with the new BnW stamps. Make sure that you show us - so that we can put you in the BnW Sunshine!

Finally I would like to sing Happy B'day to my sweet godson William. Have fun on your day!

Care for some Lemonade?

Wow! It's such a huge honor for me to be a Guest Designer for Belles 'n Whistles.

Thank you Summer and the Design Team for the amazing opportunity.

I'm so excited to be here!!!

I've been playing with the New stamps from the "Forever Young" collection all week long.

They are adorable images to color and so versatile!

Can't wait to share those cards with you.

But today, I want to share a card I made with an oldie but goodie BnW
stamp..."Lemonade Anyone?"

Oh, isn't she the sweetest little thing?

I colored her with Prismacolor Pencil and Sansodor Oil, added some
sparkles and that was it.

The image is too adorable and didn't need much else.
If you haven't done so, please join us in this week's challenge.

Also, don't forget to swing by the shop and take a look around too.
Thanks for visiting today.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Luv,

Mmm Yes please

Happy Friday to all of you. Here is my card for the update in the Bn'W blog. I have used the stamp called "Mmm, Yes please". The image is coloured with distress ink, reinkers. The edges on the image and the pattern papers are inked and sewed.

I have decorated the card with pearls and roses. I have added stickles, Star Dust, on the roses. The leaves is from a punch.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and hope you want to participate in our challenge.

Thinking of You Makes Me Happy

Hello and happy Thursday to all of you!  I hope your week is going WONDERFULLY thus far!  Well it's almost the weekend again, so it's all good right?  lol!

For todays card I used the lovely Princess Tales from the "Forever Young" collection.  Look at her ... she's soooo delighted about whatever it is she's thinking about!  :)  For me, when I made this card, I thought of a girl that is sooo happy thinking of a sweet friend that she's excited to see!  And in her little goodie princess bag?  I picture not only candies (chocolates of course... lol!), but also crafting goodies!!!  hehe!

So in my mind, I envisioned a happy Princess off to visit her dear friend and they're going to eat choco's while crafting (mind you, they have to eat nicely so the candy doesn't melt all over the crafts!)  lol!

Here's my card:

I'm not sure if the shimmer in her dress and glitter around the image is visible like how I see it in person, but I added this to give her a "sparkly glow".  Because well, you know .. when you're so excited and happy .. everyone has a "Sparkly Glow"!  :)

That's it for now, and I hope we'll see you for our ongoing weekly challenges!  This week is still our lovely challenge of "Pink, White & Brown" and you still have time to whip something up!  Come on!  Join us in the fun!  :)

Hope you have a SPARKLY day!  lol!

Sweet Dreams

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I like to show you a card I made with another super cute image from our new release 'Forever Young'. It's called Sweet Dreams. It is sold out right now already but don't worry it will be back in stock very soon.

I colored my image with a mix of Copics and colored pencils and I also added  a soft shimmer to the hair and socks using twinkling H2O's. Heavenly White for the socks and and Iridescent Gold on the hair. Maybe you can see it if you click on the close up of the image for a largr view.  To ad some bling I used Stickles glitter glue (Stardust, Strawberry Ice, Platinum & Aqua). The roses and chandelier crystals are from Michaels. DP is from Bo Bunny.

And don't forget we have weekly challenges now! To enter in our ongoing challenge CLICK HERE!
It is an awesome color challenge 'pink, brown and white' hosted by our wonderful Audhild!
Come and join us, will ya?!

June Calendar Pages

Oh my, where does time go? When this year started we decided it would be fun to have a calendar page posted each month so at the end of the year we´d have a beautiful birthday calendar with all our favourite images... I can´t believe we are half way through making this calendar! But yes, it´s true.

June... I thought about what this month means to me and of course it is everything summer: sunshine, warm but not too hot weather - and a bunch of fun outdoor activities. So I came across this cute Goggles stamp from the Spring, Cleaning and Summer Collection. Well, at the moment it is out of stock - seem like many others love this stamp too! But it for sure will be back in stock soon - just in case you didn´t get that yet.

So, he is standing there and I thought "what is he thinking about?". Probably he is just checking if he didn´t forget anything he´d need for a fun afternoon at the pool. So I made him a little checklist - I hope he´ll see that he didn´t bring his bathing ring!

Also Lynda made a june calendar page - and it is like "10 minutes later": Belle and her brother spashing around. I love the vibrant colors she used.

If you are going to make your own calendar page - please share it with us. Either leave a comment with a link under this post or use our fabulous Belles´n´Whistles Gallery. It´s not only a place where you can find all the DT´s cards but even a place where you, our Belles´n´Whistles friends from all over the world, can share your creations with us and everyone out there.

What Do You Wish For??

Morning, peeps!! Well, I gotta say... this is probably my favorite Belles 'n Whistles stamp. I know what you are thinking... I say that about all of the Belles 'n Whistles stamps! Well, I absolutely adore her. She is so girly and sweet looking. Once I inked her up, I knew that I wanted to use some really feminine papers with her. I have used some Kaiser Craft papers. I love the small floral pattern. This image was colored with my usual Prismas and OMS and as well as some Twinkling H2O's and chalk. I also have added some ribbon, flowers, glitter and crystals. For a finishing touch, I included a charm and used one of my Martha Stewart punches. I hope your day is blessed and that all your wishes come true! ;)

Make A Wish ....

Hello Friends!  Happy Friday to all of you!  I hope this is the beginning of a LOVELY weekend for all of you!  Enjoy the sunshine, the beaches, the picnics, just relaxing at home reading a book with a big cup of cookies and milk ... whatever it may be ... may it be relaxing for you.  :)

For this post, I've decided to make one of my clear acrylic cards that I enjoy doing.  I've used Cupcake.  Isn't she just sooo heart-warming?!!!  Oh she just reminds me of such a sweet person, who just baked a special cupcake with so much love for someone dear to her.  She holds it with such .... grace!

Well, what I do with my acrylic cards is really very very simple!  Whatever you do on the front of the card ... you repeat on the flipside!  Meaning, whatever papers will show through from the front, you cover it up on the flipside!  ;)  Nothing serious .. it's all easy peasy lemon squeezy!  :)

Alright, hope you have tons of fun this weekend .. and don't forget that our challenges are now weekly, so on Monday June 14th, we'll have another challenge for you!  Yayyy!  And you still have time to whip something up for our current challenge which is "ribbons and punches" too!

See you all soon!

Big Hugs,
Elise

Sunshine and Apples

Summer is near and here for some of us! I hope all of you are able to beat the heat when it arrives. Today I'm sharing a card I made using this very beautiful image called Sunshine and Apples. I just love the sweetness of this stamp.
I normally don't choose this color combination for the image, but thought that it was time to try a different combo. I actually like the colors!! Most of my cards have to contain something with a little pink just because it's a sweet color and it's my favorite.
Here's a closer look at the image I colored with this blue, yellow and gray color combo. To create my card, I used my nestabilities to cut the image out, added dew drops and paper flowers, my Martha Stewart border punch and some random and unknown DSP.
Then I added some stickles to the edges of the flowers. I hope that you will join in on the Belles n' Whistles challenge, click HERE for more details. You have until June 13th to participate!
Can't wait to see your creations!! Have a great day!!

Hitting the Beach with Belle

Good Morning - Good Morning - Good Morning!  I'm so glad that you stopped in today!  Although with all the amazing work I've been seeing posted here lately, I'm thinking I should just tuck my card away for a rainy day!  ha ha

No seriously though, haven't these girls been showing some awesome stuff lately?  How about that shaker card tutorial yesterday?  I know I can't wait to find those pre-made things and try it myself!   The regular school year is coming to an end for me, and I'm definitely hoping for a little bit more time for crafting.  If anyone knows where my mojo has gone, please send it home to me!  ha ha

Alright, I guess if I must, I'll show you my simple card, I used "Tube Wear" for my beach style card.  I wanted to try to make her appear to be wading into a lake or something, so I drew my own water, and then masked it so her feet didn't show.  I wonder how deep she'll go out before she gets nervous.  ha ha... She does look quite cautious doesn't she?  But regardless how cautious she is, she sure is a cutie!

Anyway,  I thought this would be a great summer card to give to my friend who LOVES to go hang out at the beach!

I colored this sweetie with my copics, and then of course used some sizzix dies for the flourishes.  The flowers are from Prima, and the papers from Martha Stewart.  For some odd reason the photo of this card does not show up the soft blue chalks that I used for the sky behind her.

I just love this little cutie patootie, don't you?

Thanks again for stopping by, I hope to see you all taking part in this weeks fabulous challenge.  A link above this post will take you directly to this weeks challenge.  =)

Have a WONDERFUL Day!

Tutorial Tuesday

Hello Everyone and Thanks for stopping by here today! I like to welcome you to a mini-tutorial for making a shaker card with ready to use acetate pouches. I love shaker cards and with the new shaker pouches you can buy now they are really very quick and easy to make (I think they are available from more companies, mine are from Impression Obsession). I decided to make a card with a clean and simple layout so that the 'shaker' really stands out. For my image I choose 'Tube Wear' from the Spring, Clean and Summertime Collection to make a nice summer themed card. Fitting for the soring hot temperatures we are having down here right now....phew!

I went for an oval pouch for my card. Color your image and cut it out slightly larger than your chosen pouch. Then cut a frame to fit over your pouch and cut out image. I used Spellbinders to make my die cuts.

Next choose what embellies you would like to fill in the shaker. I got some rhinestones in blue and clear, matching my coloring and a glittery flower which looks almost like a starfish ;-) I prefer filling my shakers with dew drops, rhinestones, pearls, buttons etc. Not so much which glitter as it always sticks to the actetate. Even if I try to make it 'anti-cling' by washing it with soapy water or using little bit of talcum. I also tried to rub it with an anti-static cloth. All that doesn't work too good.

Now place as many of your filling as you like on your image. But don't over fill it as you like the embellishments to flow freely and you don't want to cover the whole image. Also make sure that nothing is too big and can move easily inside the shaker pouch.

Remove the protective foil from the underside of the rim of the pouch to reveal the glue. Place the shaker exactly where you want it to be on your image.

You can see I put mine not exactly in the middle as my image is slightly larger than my pouch. I adjusted it a bit so most of my image can be seen through the shaker. Don't worry you can trim off any excess of the white paper after layering your frame over it so it doesn't show through.

Put some mini glue dots on the backside of your frame ...

.... and place it over your shaker pouch. Press firmly to adhere and voila you are done!

That was pretty quick and easy, wasn't it? Now your shaker is ready to be adhered to your card!

Please let me know if you liked my little tutorial and please don't forget to upload your Belles 'n Whistles creations into our gallery so that we all can see the wonderful work you do with the Belles 'n Whistles beauties!

Oh and while you are still here, did you know that we are having weekly challenges now here on our blog? A new challenge just started yesterday... Punches and Ribbon hosted by the talented Andrea. To enter and for all the inforamtion on the challenge click here. Come and join us, will ya?!
